The Two Things Insurance Requires

1. A Follow-Up Visit with Your DoctorFace-to-face (not telemedicine), no sooner than day 31 and no later than day 90 after you get your machine.
2. A Compliant DownloadUse your CPAP or BIPAP device at least 4 hours a night on 21 of 30 consecutive days, any 30-day stretch within your first 90 days.
UPHP, Michigan Medicaid & UPHP Medicare Advantage Plans: your plan also requires a compliant 90-day download: at least 4 hours a night on 63 of your first 90 days.

Most new machines are cloud-based and we can pull your download remotely. Others need you to bring your SD card in to Community Home Medical Inc., especially in places with low reception. Not sure if your cloud is working? Call us and we can verify connection.

Frequently Asked Supply Questions

How do I order new supplies?

Call 906-341-1116 or 906-553-7601 and press 3 for our CPAP & BIPAP resupply line. If you get voicemail, leave your name, date of birth, and the exact supplies you need, and our resupply team will start your order.

Can my supplies be put on auto-refill?

Unfortunately, no. Insurance rules require that you contact us to start or confirm each order. We do make reminder calls, but it’s best to call about a week before your supplies are due so we can have them ready to ship on your next eligible date.

Can I sign up for automated reminder calls?

Yes, if you sign up for our automated resupply call program with a credit card on file, our AI Agent will call and ask if you are in need of supplies at each eligible interval.

How will I get my supplies?

Unless you’re a new setup or coming in for a mask fitting, orders are mailed with tracking from our Manistique location straight to your door at no cost to you. We’ll confirm your supplies, phone number, and address when you order.

How should I clean my supplies?

Once a week, wash with warm soapy water, rinse, and air dry. A mild soap like Ivory dish soap keeps smells and residue from building up. Once a month, soak for 20 minutes in one part vinegar to two parts water, then rinse and air dry.

Always let everything dry completely before using it. Mask wipes and UV sanitizers help between washes, but they don’t replace regular cleaning.

How often do I need to see my doctor?

Once a year, face-to-face (not telemedicine), to keep receiving supplies. You and your doctor should discuss your continued use and benefit. Bringing a download that shows you’re using the machine helps.

Each year, once we get your new paperwork and place your first order, your doctor will also need to sign a Standard Written Order (SWO). Plan ahead, since it can take a few extra days.
